Benefits of Aerobics Cardio

‘Aerobics’ true to its meaning ‘with oxygen’ physically conditions and improves your respiratory and circulatory efficiency. There are various exercises that you can choose from- right from walking, cycling, swimming to intensive ones. However, I would like to stress here, irrespective of the exercise incorporated in your aerobics cardio workout, the exercise should be done intensively, in the correct manner and consistently. You lose out on any one of these and the benefits may not be as fruitful as it would have otherwise been.
The benefits of Aerobics cardio include:
1. A stronger and healthier heart. Cardio refers to heart, so strive for an optimum target heart rate (THR) during your workout. Here’s a simple calculation for that- Calculate your Maximum heart rate (MHR) by subtracting your age by 220. Further, THR should be 60-90% of your MHR.
2. This improves your cardiac output i.e. blood delivery to various parts of the body, and it improves your oxygen extraction (more oxygen intake to your body).
3. Decreases the total cholesterol and increases HDL (necessary cholesterol).
4. It reduces blood pressure along with reducing the risk of diabetes, heart stroke and heart attack.
5. Reduces body fat, depression, anxiety, tension and improves efficient sleep hours.
Overall, Aerobics cardio strengthens your heart, lungs and your respiratory and circulatory system. It increases your basic metabolic rate and oxygen intake level.
