Reasons for Anxiety and how you can avoid it

Anxiety is just another feeling, you, me all of us have been anxious at some point of our life. But when anxiety starts to intrude in your or your child’s daily life activities its time you press the emergency button. Anxiety disorders are seen on a rise especially amongst teens and children. An estimated of 6 to 20 percent of teens and children show symptoms of anxiety disorder.

The reason behind anxiety disorders are generally attributed to hereditary descends and environmental factors. So, maybe you just passed on those symptoms to your child. No? Then maybe the ambience around has played spoilsport. You aren’t with your child or teen always. He or she has a life outside. Stress, peer pressure, household fights etc can add on gradually to build up anxiety.

Fine! So you’ve settled down on the reasons. It’s time you took some serious action. Firstly, don’t panic. Your gem isn’t completely lost. Consult a mental health professional at the soonest. The healing or recuperating is a gradual process as your child requires a lot of time to cope up with his or her worries and fears. A careful evaluation and a case specific treatment along with your love should make your child the child he or she was!
